Brian, a.k.a. The Big Gringo was born and grew up along the coast in Ventura County, California and attended the University of California at Berkeley earning his degree in English Literature in 1999.

A love of bowling, surfing, and White Russians (the cocktail, he wouldn’t discriminate against a Slav of any skin tonation) gave him just the right level of distraction to barely slack his way through that. Right after, he got the hell out.

On the road for the past 11 years, Brian has lived, traveled, surfed, and bowled through every continent except Antarctica (it’s on the agenda).  Currently, he lives in Quito where he can be found on his computer most days in the Pub tapping away.
