As reported by Domenick Buonamici from EcuadorRealEstate.org
Every 3 months on my Weekly Ecuador Insider’s Newsletter I try to bring
you a market pricing report, instead of the normal investor news; here is a
rundown of the real estate pricing changes I have seen over the last year inEcuador:

As seen by me:
Building in Ecuador- $30-35 per square foot of construction for finished
house. ($50/ft for a luxury finishing)As reported in a good article by the NY Times in 2010:

I like the style of your columns. You seem to tell it “like it is”, instead of ignoring all the negatives.
We’re sincerely interested in buying a QUALITY retirement residence somewhere in a safe, attractive area of Ecuador, ideally where we might enjoy the presence of other people from Canada, the USA & Europe. I have been especially interested in some of the listings we’ve seen advertised for Salinas, Olon, manta & the like only because we love looking at the ocean. Fact is, we presently live in a beautiful waterfront home here in Canada.
My prinicpal question, I guess is: How might you be of assistance to me in our ewxploration of Ecuador and a search for a quality home, avoiding all the “scams” that we’ve read about so far.
I really look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Sandra Gregg

I have two friends living in Montanita who are selling home. They are two really great guys from Florida who have been living in the area for quite a long while now. You can contact them by checking the Casa del Sol website which is the hotel they run in Montanita. Their names are Mike and Jeff and are great guys. Also check the blog post on Casa del Sol which is a great place to hang out at when you arrive on the coast.
