New to Cuenca? Get the Dixie tour – highly recommended.

Dixie Davie, an Australian from Perth, and her husband have been in Cuenca for two years now – and loving every minute of it.  Her site is Retire – in – Ecuador.

The Gringo and company had an opportunity to join her on her tour this past week – it was a very well spent $75.  We learned a lot – both the positive and the negative about moving to Cuenca.  It was mostly positive.

From her site, here is her description of her tour:

This tour is designed to show you a little of what it is like to live here and to find out where the best neighborhoods are, and where to do your grocery and other shopping, popular restaurants, where the cinema’s are, where the doctors, dentists and hospitals are, where to pay bills, where the banks are, etc. etc.

Where you begin looking for short or long-term accommodation in your new city of choice can be quite daunting? And what about knowing where the best shopping, banks, doctors, dentists and other important points of interest are?

That is why I have decided to offer this informational and fabulous 3 hour tour (or longer if requested). I am calling this excursion “Dixie’s Getting To Know Cuenca Tour”This tour will include myself, and a driver in a comfortable vehicle. We will collect you from your hotel and show you in and around the outskirts of Cuenca. The cost is $75 per couple.
