All Hail the Queen!

Stepping into La Reina Victoria Pub in Quito is like stepping into another world, or at least another country, as this pub perfectly mimics a traditional English pub. From the outside it looks similar to the other brightly painted houses on the street, with the exception of the English and British flags plastered on the upstairs windows. Inside, however, is a completely different story. Dark mahogany tables and benches provide seating for only about 20, keeping the atmosphere pretty cozy. Stools surround the bar and are generally filled with locals and regulars.Ecu4Image

Staples include fish and chips and shepherds pie, and although currently no English imports are offered there are home brewed stout and bitter on tap for those craving something other than a Pilsner. While a pint of the dark stuff will run you about 3.50 USD, a bottle of imported Guinness will cost you about 5 USD. Happy hour, from 5 pm to 7 pm, and is a great time to enjoy some two for one Pilsners and a game or two of darts.

Located at Calle Reina Victoria 530 and Roca, La Reina Victoria Pub is Monday to Saturday 5 pm to 2 am, and Sunday until 12 am.
